P. Ovidii Nasonis Opera Omnia,
Amstelodami -Waesbergios, Boom and Goethals 1702 - The works of Ovid. Complete in three volumes. In Latin. Another edition of that first printed in Amsterdam in 1683. Containing all of Ovid's best-known works, including Heroides, Metamorphoses, Amores and Ars Amatoria. With an engraved half-title to each volume. Volume II, containing Metamorphoses, contains many further engravings illustrative of the text. Copperplate inscription to front blank of volume I, dated 1819. With copious noted by Nikolaes Heinsius the Elder (July 20, 1620 1681), a Dutch classical scholar and poet, son of Daniel Heinsius. Condition: In calf bindings. Externally, rather rubbed and bumped. All joints cracked; one board held by one cord only. One further hinge strained. Internally, firmly bound, generally bright and clean but with the odd spot and mark.
