Originally published in Florence in 1668, this work records Redi's experiments, which "gave the first real blow to the doctrine of spontaneous generation." Includes 38 engraved plates (10 folding), 2 text-engravings (1 full-page). Some edge wear on wrappers with minor rubbing and chipping along edges. Spine rippled. Sporadic foxing throughout.
