RARE Original Antique Shape book in the form of Mother Goose, comprising a collection of brightly-illustrated nursery rhymes on twelve (12) color-printed pages, original string binding. A die-cut shape book rivaling the Prang Toy Books of the same period! Date of publication inferred from publisher's address. McLoughlin Bros. was at 30 Beekman St. between 1863 and 1870 The colorful wrappers are illustrated with a depiction of a slightly wicked looking Mother Goose. The publisher's name and address are printed at the bottom of the front cover. Small front edge chip on her hat in the front, and slight chip on the top of the hat in the rear. Slight (1") bottom spine split, otherwise solid, all attached. an Excellent Original Example of a nearly 150 year old Toy Children's book!! THESE DELICATE ITEMS RARELY SURVIVED AT ALL, MUCH LESS SO NICE! REMARKABLY CLEAN AS WELL, WITH NO WRITING!! NOTE: I have images of every page of this Gem if you wish them, including close ups of the slight chips. THE LAST IMAGE IS FOR SIZE COMPARISON ONLY, with the 1895 LITTLE MOTHER GOOSE books I am listing separately. This listing is for the 1863 Toy Book ONLY! [Attributes: First Edition; Soft Cover]
