P. Dance "On William Wood's General Conchology and Index Testaceologicus", loosely inserted, 8vo., Vol. I, 120mm x 190mm (4.75" x 7.5"); Vol. II, 135mm x 202mm (5.25" x 8"), Vol. I, covers slightly rubbed, small marks on front and back, former owner's small bookplate on front fixed end-paper, otherwise a very fine bright items. Vol. II, covers soiled and rubbed at margins, spine missing, light browning to title-page, inner hinges repaired, former owner's name on front fixed end-paper, otherwise a fine copy. This 1825 edition of Index Testaceologicus is often incorrectly referred to as the first edition (which was 1818), it is actually the second edition.
