Novelas Ejemplares. [Printed on cork].
Barcelona Editorial Orbis 1933 - Two octavo volumes. (17), 104; (5), 199, (1)pp, numbered and mostly printed on rectos only. One of 200 copies. Printed entirely on leaves of cork and bound in leather-backed, cork-covered boards. The text is based on the edition by Juan Suné Benages and includes "La Gitanilla," "Riconete y Cortadillo," "La Ilustre Fregona," "El Casamiento Engañoso," and "Coloquio de los Perros." Three earlier editions of Don Quixote were printed on cork in Catalonia in 1905, 1906, and 1907. Printed in red and black and designed by Antonio Saló. Housed in a custom-made cloth-lined case. Only three institutional copies recorded. Half-title in volume two torn, hook for one of the two clasps on the box is missing. Still a very fine set of this rare, fragile, attractively designed and printed edition. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
