Report from the Select Committee on Transportation;
1838 1838 - Together with the Minutes of Evidence, Appendix, and Index. Ordered, by The House of Commons, to be Printed, 3 August 1838. Foolscap folio. Full buckram with morocco titling label on front board and with the orig. blue paper printed front wrapper bound in. (L,330.44pp.). With errata-slip. Some foxing mainly confined to the margins and some pages between pp.12 and 38 in the Minutes of Evidence section are absent or defective. (Parl. Paper No.669). NOTE: A very important report and enquiry, excessively rare even in its slightly defective state, as Ferguson 2500 cites only one other copy being the one from the Mackaness Collection. Among those who gave evidence at the Enquiry were the Very Rev. William Ullathorne, John Macarthur, Major T.L. Mitchell, Sir Edward Parry, John Marshall, Major Thomas Wright, a.o. Startling particulars were given of the conditions on Norfolk Island.
