Marx was a composer and music critic and friend of Felix Mendolssohn. He is also the author of books on music theory and composition. This book is the English transaltion of A. H. Wehrhan and based on the Fifth Edition of the original German. The book is in very good condition. There is some light rubbing on the corners. Title imprint in gold on the spine.Raised bands on spine. There is a former owner name on the title page which appears not to be of recent vintage. The rebind, also, is not of recent vintage.
