Shaw, an author of several pattern books presents here a number of house designs (Grecian and a few Gothic, and one Italian villa). His designs were popular in rural New England. It contains, in addition to the usual practical material, numerous designs for houses in the Grecian, Gothic, and Italian tastes as well as several of the Gothic church designs for which Shaw was well known." Moderate foxing to frontispiece and title page, light to occasional moderate foxing throughout. Bookplate of The Victorian Society in America and owner inscription. No other ex-libris marking.
