Margaret Thatcher; Wife-Mother - Politician.SIGNED by Margaret Thatcher (With Letter of Provenance)
Sidgwick and Jackson 1983 - A First UK printing published by Sidgwick and Jackson in 1983.The BOOK is in near FINE condition being tight and free from inscriptions. There is some mild dustiness to the text block and mild browning of the cover edges. The pages are slightly tanned due to the cheap paper quality used.Mild pushing to the lower spine. The book appears unread. The WRAPPER is in near FINE condition but is price-clipped.There is some mild creasing to lower rear cover and some mild browning to the flap edges. The striking wrapper design with Norman Parkinson`s photo of Lady Thatcher looks very attractive in the removable Brodart protective cover. The book has been SIGNED by MARGARET THATCHER in her characteristic blue ink to the half title page. The book is accompanied by a hand written letter giving provenance to the signature .It is unclear as to whom the letter is actually addressed to (Michael and Rita). The letter is dated 18.12.84 and is written and signed by Antonia Brown (wife of MP Peter Brown ).It goes onto say that the book `was signed by Mrs Thatcher inside the GRAND HOTEL during the last conference. This book was returned to Peter about 6 weeks after the bombing!!!`.At the time of listing, the only SIGNED copy as such for sale - A very scarce item in such condition with such attributes and provenance. Please see other SIGNED Margaret Thatcher Titles that I have for sale. ashtonrarebooks welcomes direct contact.
