Some Considerations on a Law for Triennial Parliaments . . . [bound with 11 other contemporary pamphlets].
London: Printed for J. Baker and T. Warner, 1716. - Defoe's tract on the term of the current Parliament, which he argues should be extended. His 40-page work is the fifth pamphlet bound with eleven other contemporary tracts on English and European politics, e.g.: British Advice to Free-Holders of Great Britain . . . London: Printed for S. Popping, 1715; The Present Constitution and Protestant Succession Vindicated . . . London: Printed for J. Baker, 1714; Remarks on a Pamphlet, Entituled, The Thoughts of a Member of the Lower House . . . London: Printed for J. Roberts, 1719; Walpole, Robert. A Short History of the Parliament. London: Printed for T. Warner, 1713; etc. A complete list with collations is available. One other pamphlet in the collection has been attributed to Defoe by Moore, but de-attributed by Furbank and Owens (see Moore and Furbank & Owens 265). Twelve pamphlets bound in one volume, 8vo & 4to, contemporary quarter calf and blue boards, all untrimmed, a few leaves uncut. Moore 345; NCBEL II, 897. Some wear and dust-soiling, but a nice survival and example of contemporary tracts bound together. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
