The Inscriptions of the Sinai - Part I : Introduction and Plates
London : The Offices of the Egypt Exploration Fund 1917 - Folio (452mm X 350mm) hardcover in printed paper-covered boards and black cloth spine with red lettering. pp: [v], 19; 86 plates. Front paste-down has a label date 1918 stating that this book was a donation from Roland Wedgewood, and a St John's Seminary Library bookplate below. Good condition: Binding is sturdy and text-block is secure with leaves that are clean, fairly crisp, and without any annotations, underlinings, marginalia, or any institutional stampings whatsoever. The main flaws are the back-strip, which is detached to one side and flaps around a bit, and the rubbed corners of the boards. Also there is approx. 82 mm of back-strip loss to the head, as well as approx.10mm of loss to the tail end, but all spine lettering is present. PLEASE NOTE: This is a heavy item and extra towards delivery cost may be requested. An enquiry is recommended - especially for overseas delivery. [Attributes: First Edition]
