Methuen & Co., London 1933 - For sale we have Helen Keller's Methuen edition of 'The World I Live In'. The book was given to a Mr Greer by Helen Keller in 1934 and is inscribed and signed by the author to the ffep. The pencil Inscription reads "To Mr Greer, With happy memories of three friends who filled a summer's afternoon with merriment, Helen Keller, South Arcan, Muir of Ord, August 23 1934". ---------------------------------- INFO:n 1932, Helen Keller visited Scotland, where an honorary doctorate was conferred on her by the University of Glasgow. From there, she set off for the Highlands, including Tain, which she described as smelling of heather and of the sea, and Inverness, where she shopped ('how shockingly prosaic!' she wrote) and addressed the Rotary Club. She was invited to stay at a farmhouse at South Arcan, on the River Orrin, near Muir of Ord. ------------------------------- CONDITION: The book has no dust jacket but the cloth binding remains in good clean condition. The book itself is in good clean condition throughout. Pages are clean throughout. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall [Attributes: Hard Cover]
