Camera Obscura
John Long, London 1935 - The book is reasonably firmly bound in the original black cloth, lettered in gilt, the boards are slightly bowed, the corners and spine ends are bumped, the cloth to the edge of the front board has rubbed away and the gilt to the spine has vanished. The text block is slightly age toned with some minor foxing, there is an old bookseller's price neatly written to the front endpaper and a short closed tear to the bottom of page 5, where it looks to have been opened slightly carelessly. A fragile production of the first of Nabokov's novels to be translated into English, it is a shame that Nabokov absolutely loathed Winifred Roy's interpretation of his work! [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
