Smith, Elder & Co. 1878-1889. - Size 5.5 x 7.5 inches. Professionally rebound in half calf leather binding with Talwyn Morris style gilt decor to spines. Marbled boards and endpapers. Raised bands. Top edge gilt. Complete in 25 vols. With b/w engraved illustrations. In very good condition. A couple of volumes have slight rubbing at top end of spine. One has a small chip. Vol I of Vanity Fair has neat inscription to first blank page. Mild foxing to edges with occasional small marks and foxing spots to all volumes. Else a clean and tight set. Complete works of William Makepeace Thackeray in Twenty Five Volumes. Beautifully rebound some time after publication. Several volumes have more than one title inside.
