Berlin: A.Sala, circa, 1910. Game consisting of 4 pp. instructions, six colour printed boards of the continents, 120 colour printed pictorial playing cards; contained within the original box (330 x 390 x 25 mm.), with colour printed pictorial label on upper lid; one card with ink stains otherwise in remarkably fine condition. A question and answer game of geography for up to six players. Each player must attempt to collect twenty matching playing cards relating to his part of the continent (America is divided into North and South) by answering questions on mountains, rivers and towns. The playing cards are illustrated with plants, animals, people and towns on one side and questions regarding relevant parts of the world on the other. There are twenty cards relating to Australia and the Pacific, including picture cards of Brisbane, Collins Street Melbourne, and Sydney, as well as one of an Aborigine, Captain Cook, the Murray River, Lake Eyre, gold diggers, a kangaroo, platypus, echidna, black swan and a cassowary.
