Of Mice and Men - First Issue
Covici-Friede Publishers, 1937-01-01. New York: Covici Friede, 1937. First Edition, First Printing, First Issue, of which only 2,500 copies were printed. With first issue text of "and only moved because the heavy hands were pendula" on page 9, and a bullet between the two 8's of the page number on page 88. In a first state dust jacket with the price of $2.00 intact on the front flap. In Near Fine condition, in a Very Good dust jacket. Clean text, though lightly age toned pages. Previous owner name in ink on front paste down, obscured by the front flap of the dust jacket. Faint wear at spine ends and very faint rubbing to corners. The dust jacket shows sunning to the spine, rubbing at folds, a few closed short tears, and some light chipping and edge wear, mainly at spine ends and corners. Thin red scuff to rear panel, light overall wear to the jacket. A lovely copy, rare.
