Leather Half calf over cloth boards, spine in six compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering on burgundy labels in two compartments, gilt tooling in the remainder, t.e.g., marbled endpapers. From the library of Earl Fitzwilliam. Volumes I and II are from the second, revised edition (1826). Volumes III, IV and V are first editions (1828-29). A beautifully bound set. Former owner's armorial bookplate (William Charles De Meuron, Earl Fitzwilliam), bibliographic note on reverse of ffep (Vol. 1); otherwise unmarked, a tight, square, and clean set with only minimal shelf-wear. VERY GOOD. 8vo 8" - 9" tall
