Horse-Racing in England. A synoptical review.
London: Richard Bentley and Son, 1893 - Octavo. Original dark blue cloth, titles to spine gilt, horse and jockey design to front board gilt, red and light blue strips horizontally along top and bottom of front board and spine, illustrated endpaper. With small red ink stamp of Thacker, Spinker & Co. Calcutta to verso of front free endpaper. Spine ends rubbed and somewhat worn with a few closed tears, extremities lightly rubbed, inner hinges cracked to gauze lining, front free endpaper partially loose, slight residue of label to front pastedown, occasional spotting throughout. A very good copy. First edition of the third of Black's (1829–1915) books about horse-racing, the other titles being Horse-Racing in France (1887) and The Jockey Club and Its Founders (1891).
