The Green Ray
Sampson Low, Marston & Co. 1883 - First Printing of the First English Edition. Mauve-grey and green pictorial cloth with gilt titles. Decorative endpapers. 312 pp. plus advertisment supplement (dated September 1883) at rear pages. B/w illustrations. Superb condition. No inscriptions. One very light area of rubbing to the top corner of blank flyleaf page (where a prev. inscription had been erased). Pages beautifully clean throughout. Pictorial cloth is in stunning condition with no noticeable wear. Gilt is still bright and cloth still has its lustrous sheen. Could have been popped into a time machine and sent to us direct from 1883. Has come from a very well looked-after collection. One of Verne's scarcest works (particularly in this the mauve-grey cloth variant) which we are thrilled to be able to offer here. NEAR FINE [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
