Compendium Philosophiae.
France circa 1720 - Small quarto. 352p. An early 18thc philosophical treatise, in neat manuscript, apparently by [Abbe?} Velly (d.1759?). Unpublished, and later in the ownership of the French philospher Auguste Boutin, the work appears to be metaphysical in nature, dealing with the essence of existence, thoughts of the mind, the material elements, and logic. In a neat and legible Latin hand, and in a contemporary binding of ful sheepskin, the spine with raised bands, gilt in compartments, and original label, spine ends chipped, but joints and hinges are sound, this is an original manuscript worthy of further research. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
