THE GRAVEYARD WANDERERS. The Wise Ones and the Dead in Sweden.
UK Society of Esoteric Endeavour. 2013 First Edition. Octavo, publisher's black leather titled in white on front cover, spine panel decorated with skulls in white, front & rear panels inlaid with sheets of patronized copper with embossed skeletal hands, housed in a slipcase of patonized copper with handmade pastepaper panels, with spine protectors externally clad in blind stamped copper. 108 pp, printed on heavyweight Fabriano Ingres laid paper, specially commissioned handmade gray & black endpapers. 180 hand-numbered copies printed. Due to the elaborate processes involved in production, all copies are unique, and the entire print run could be deemed to be a 'deluxe' issue. Originally released in 2013, a few of the most elaborate of the copper panels were set aside and bound for us in early 2014; these copies, 5 in number, all have the copper-clad slipcases, the most elaborate of the slipcases available for this publication, which cost almost as much as the book. The embossed copper sides have been hand made and their elaborate shaping has been patonized, a process whereby the natural oxidation process is accelerated and stabilized. The result are iridescent colours, an effect referred to as the "peacock's tail" in alchemy, where it is identified with the stage of decay in the Great Work. The patonized copper is then preserved with lacquer. The handmade pastepaper endpapers and slipcase sides are made by an elaborate process which produces amorphous, chaotic swirls which have skeletal fingers clawing through them. A fine copy in the copper-clad slipcase. Fine in Slipcase
