1921 William Heinemann, London 1921 - First edition in English, large 8vo, pp. xxiii, 326, [1]; color frontis, 8 color plates, 1 folding color map, plus a profusion of halftone plates throughout; original green cloth stamped in silver, some fading of the binding, else a very good copy. This copy with a long presentation from Rasmussen on the front free endpaper, quoting in 60 words a greeting from "an old Eskimo wizard Majaq, I thank you for your kind interest for my work. Knud Rasmussen, 7 April, 1928." There are a number of references to Majaq in the text, but the lines of his quoted by Rasmussen do not appear.First published in Danish in 1919. "Narrative of a sledge journey to make a geological survey of the north coast of Greenland, to establish the existence of Eskimo houses in the far north, and to make natural history collections."
