Illustrated with a coat of arms of the See of Cantebury to the verso of the title, and five folding plates: map of Canterbury; the High Altar; Reliquiarum Coenobii's Augustini Cantuariensis; Font; Scriny S. Thomas. Contemporary panelled calf, recently re-backed, retaining the original red gilt label. Small 4to. First edition of the first history of Cantebury. Armorial bookplate of Manningham, and signature of Hy. Manningham to front fixed endpaper. Both front and rear endpapers have been cut longitudinally in half; on the front, party extending to the next free endpaper, is written in what appears to be an eighteenth century hand, 'This the completest copy I've ever seen having Errors Corrected from a printed Errata also five plates SE page â?" 1. 46. 52. 181. 247. Very few copies Have above 3 plates, some but two â?" W. T.' Two of the plates have been repaired from the blank verso; boards rubbed and a little worn; else an excellent copy.
