Gladwin, with love from Manning Coles." Most likely signed by Adelaide Manning. The second Tommy Hambleton thriller by Adelaide Manning and Cyril Coles writing as Manning Coles. Spine is browned and light offsetting to the front and rear endpapers, else a very good copy in dust jacket with light restoration to the spine ends. Tommy Hambledon of the British Intelligence Service in his second appearance, as a victim of amnesia caused by the fighting in World War I. In his first book, DRINK TO YESTERDAY, Tommy is an English spy operating behind enemy lines in Germany. This book continues with Tommy operating as a spy in Nazi Germany, and he also continues to experience bouts of amnesia, but as the novel draws to a close he discovers his real identity and looks forward to using his talents in the future to help Scotland Yard.
