Very faint unobtrusive small splash mark to top edge of text-block near head of spine not affecting margins or interior pages. Spine tight. No foxing. Pages clean. No inscriptions. ***In a very good indeed original first impression colour illustrated dustwrapper which has not been price-clipped, showing the original publisher's price of 7/6 net. Edges of dustwrapper very slightly rubbed, nicked and creased. Tiny loss and rubbing to head of spine and corners of dustwrapper. Tail of spine of dustwrapper slightly rubbed and creased. Two tiny closed tears to bottom edge of front panel of dustwrapper. Tiny closed tear to top edge of rear panel of dustwrapper. Tiny closed tear to bottom edge of rear panel of dustwrapper. Tiny chips to tail of spine of dustwrapper. Small closed tear to top outer corner of rear panel of dustwrapper. Rear panel of dustwrapper slightly discoloured (being a white matt background). Red illustrative spine of dustwrapper unfaded. Red colour and illustration of front panel of dustwrapper bright. ***192 mm x 130 mm. 264 pages. ***A rare post-war Richmal Crompton "William" first impression of the true first edition in its original fragile dustwrapper in extremely nice, bright clean collectable condition, and very unusually with no owner's or gift inscriptions. ***'Another rollicking story of William and his Outlaws battling valiantly with the problems of life.'
