1921 1921 - Lvs. 26 + 25. Leaves double-folded in the Japanese manner. The second volume with some tiny wormholes in margins but otherwise a very good copy. Original decorated wrappers, silk ties, back covers with some light wear. First edition.The two volumes comprise one hundred coloured woodcuts depicting different patterns of traditional Japanese short winter coats (Hanten) used by fire-fighters and warriors, also named Jin-Haori (Jinbaori). This kind of coat was introduced in the 18th century during the Edo period. The beautiful woodcuts are printed in bright, rich colours with designs of various geometric forms including animals, flowers, crests, etc. [Attributes: First Edition; Soft Cover]
