FLOOR GAMES (in Exceedingly Rare Original Dust Jacket)
Frank Palmer 1911 - Wells, H. G. FLOOR GAMES. London: Frank Palmer, (1911). First Edition. Line drawings throughout by J. R. Sinclair. Also many full-page photographic images of toys in military formations). A NEAR FINE copy, rarely found this fresh and bright with the front onlay illustration unabraded and the cloth unrubbed, in a decent example of the exceedingly rare die-cut dust jacket (chips to the extremities, a closed tear through the lower right front panel.although the inherent fragility of the dust wrapper makes the survival of a fine example hard to imagine.and in a book especially designed for children to enjoy.) H. G. Wells' FLOOR GAMES is a delightful story of creative play with miniature figures and magical worlds on the nursery floor. Although unknown to H.G. Wells, Floor Games would eventually be the foundational inspiration for the development of sand-play therapy, the non-verbal psycho-therapeutic method now used the world over for treatment of both children and adults. Likewise collected by war-game enthusiasts, children's book collectors, and Wells collectors. Possibly even belongs on a child psychologist's library shelf. A real find which hopefully will be much appreciated by its new owner! [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
