HawaII 'Out of Series' copy of 1 of 400 copies of the signed limited edition 1st edition
Random House, New York 1959 - 1st edition/1st printing, Random House, 1959. 1 of 400 signed limited edition copies. First Edition and 400 signed limition edition copies noted on limitation page, and First Printing noted on copyright page. This copy marked 'Out Of Series' on the signed limitation page instead of being numbered. Likely a copy given to the author for use as a 'presentation copy.' Fine, straight, clean, unmarked, tight and undamaged book. It is bound in brown cloth with unworn gold gilt spine lettering and publisher's unfaded pink upper page edges stain. The book has a small, tasteful bookplate with a printed name opposite the limitation page. The clear acetate dustjacket is also Fine, and the publisher's slipcase is overall Near Fine+ with only a couple of very small surface scuffs to the top edge that slightly lightened the color in those 2 very small areas. All 3 slipcase labels are in Fine condition and the slipcase is structurally and cosmetically in great condition. One of Michener's most justly famous books - a finely detailed and accurate fictional account of the people involved in the settling and history of the Hawaiian Islands. ; Signed by Author LOC: 5910815 [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
