Made in about 1300, the Bird's Head Haggadah is the oldest-known Ashkenazi Haggadah. It is named for the illuminated bird-head figures that populate the margins, which were an attempt to circumvent the Decalogue's prohibition against images (HAGGADAH) Number 210 of 600 copies printed in collotype by Kunstanstalt Max Jaffé in Vienna. 2 vols., 52 black-and-white illustrations in vol.
