In brown full leather, refurbished with sympathetic new spine and small strip to front cover, spine has raised bands, gilt tooling, title in gilt to black leather label. Internally, pencil owners name to front blank, has the map frontis, complete with all 12 plates (misnumbered), (xi), [5], 357 pp, [3], has the errata & adverts, small paper repair to final blank. The first edition was printed in Dublin in 1723. (ESTC T139796). Rowlands, Church of England clergyman and antiquary. His first book was Idea Agriculturae which was written in 1704 , but remained in manuscript until 1764 . This describes the state of agriculture in Anglesey and tells us the methods adopted to improve the soil, however his most important work was Mona Antiqua Restaurata , which was published in Dublin in 1723 , a second impression being issued in 1766 under the editorship of Dr. Henry Owen (1716 - 1795) See NLW WBO & ODMNB for full Bios.
