Improvisations 1954: Artists Equity Masquerade Ball. Hotel Astor, May 20. Spring Fantasia
Artists Equity Association, New York 1954 - 10 pages and 56 lithographs printed rectos (one per page) only. 9 by 11-3/4 inches. One of 2000 numbered copies. Artists Equity (now New York Artists Equity Association) was formed in 1947 to advocate for artists. During the 1950s, the group organized elaborate events and as a fundraiser solicited ads from New York businesses, each one designed by a member artist. This program includes lithographic reproductions of work by Louise Nevelson, Ben Shahn, Reginald Marsh, Leo Leonni, and many others. First edition (first printing). Copy 1955 of 2000. Very good in plastic-comb bound wrappers (paperback). Last few leaves have a small area of dampstaining in the lower outside corner, not affecting images. [Attributes: First Edition; Soft Cover]
