1685 - 4 Antique prints, titled: 'T.27-30.' - Tab.27-30. Tabula Vigesimaseptima-trigesima: These anatomy plates shows back muscles, the upper and lower muscles on the back of the body. Original legend sheet included (latin text). This scarse / rare large original old / antique medical / anatomy print / plate originates from Goverd Bidloo's landmark work titled: 'Anatomia Humani Corporis' (1685). The same plates were also used in: 'Anatomia Corporum Humanorum' by William Cowper, 1739. This plate is from the 1685 ed. Copperplate engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Made by 'Gerard de Lairesse' after 'Govert Bidloo'. Gerard or Gerard de Lairesse (1640/1641 - 1711) was a very talented Dutch Golden Age painter and art theorist. Govert Bidloo or Govard Bidloo (1649 - 1713) was a Dutch Golden Age physician, anatomist, poet and playwright. He was the personal physician of William III of Orange-Nassau, Dutch stadholder and king of England. Good, given age. Plate and image in very good condition. Light soiling from handling. Some staing in image on T.28. Paper edges partly uncut and irregular with small tears, browned. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 34.5 x 51 cm. The image size is ca. 26 x 42 cm. The overall size is ca. 13.6 x 20.1 inch. The image size is ca. 10.2 x 16.5 inch. Storage location: B27-14
