(Hamlin served as Vice President to Lincoln.) Also in the book are speeches of Lincoln and Hamlin and the Lincoln-Douglas debates. The book contains portraits of Lincoln and Hamlin. Here are some examples of chapter contents about Lincoln: * Entrance into Public Life * Canvass of 1848 * Republic Convention, 1858 * Challenge to Douglas * The Second Debate at Freeport * Arguments of Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Douglas * Fraudulent Districting * The Wigwam * Nominations * Ballotings * Slavery in the District of Columbia * Lincoln Vote in 1858 Condition: Light soiling and some stain spots to covers and spine; small cloth tears to bottom 2 corner tips; 3" cloth tear along the bottom-right edge of the spine; wear to bottom edge of spine. Sporadic foxing throughout (heaviest on the tissue paper over the frontispiece); no writing or tears found. Crack at front hinge resulting in the front cover being a bit shaky, but holding.
