Tobacco was highly desirable and coveted throughout Europe for multiple purposes, and Neander was one of the first to clarify and gather all of its purposes into one important work. In ‘Tabacologia,’ Neander discusses the remarkable medicinal properties of tobacco, its power to cure diseases, and its use in surgery for wounds, ulcers, and abscesses. (Macinnes).
