Printed by C. and J. Adlard [1853], [London] - 30pp. Stitched within original untrimmed wrappers, with title to upper wrapper, lower wrapper removed. Vertical crease. A rare survival in the original state of an early Victorian Sotheby's/Wilkinson sale catalogue of the library of Francis J.S. Wilson. His library, lotted here in 552 lots and sold over two days, consisted of largely standard works of English literature and antiquarianism, contemporary works of natural history and travel (including Roberts in parts, 1842 and Gould, Birds from the Himalaya Mountains, 1832), alongside a smattering of early printed and manuscript theology, including a 1550 Cranach Luther, and a fifteenth-century manuscript missal on vellum with ten large illuminations, '44 capital letters enclosing smaller miniatures.each accompanied with a fanciful border of fruit, flowers, animals, &c. the whole heightened with gold'. No copies of this catalogue are located by COPAC; OCLC records a bound volume of sale catalogues containing this title, but apparently without an attached location. Size: 8vo [Attributes: Soft Cover]
