London: printed by T[homas]. N[ewcomb]. for Henry Herringman, at the signe of the Blew Anchor in the lower walk of the New Exchange 1673 - First edition; folio; [8], 402, 111, [i], [4], 68, 71-486pp. In full early eighteenth century leather with five raised spine bands and gilt-lettered red morocco title label to second compartment (corners bumped, hinges cracked but firmly held by cords, spine somewhat worn with minor loss to head, foot and at top of front hinge), lacks free endpapers and pp13-14 from Siege of Rhodes (the latter re-supplied with tipped-in quality facsimile on matching antique paper), two early ink ownership names to title-page, portrait frontispiece sometime laid down on antique paper, opening and closing leaves very lightly soiled and with a couple of marginal wormholes, one other inconspicuous single marginal wormhole to first few quires well clear of text, very occasional unobtrusive spots, stains and ink-marks but overall a clean, useable and very presentable example. "Gondibert", "Madagascar", "Poems", and "Siege of Rhodes" each have their own title pages dated 1672. Bound with "Siege of Rhodes" preceding "News from Plimouth", resulting in orphaned catchword to verso of leaf 3E. A sound copy. ESTC R10223. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
