1640 - Antique print, titled: 'Fred: Henry, par la grace de Dieu Prince d'Orenge, Comte de Nassau [.]' - Portrait of Frederik Hendrik (Frederick Henry), Prince / Count of Orange-Nassau. Source unknown, to be determined. Etching / engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Made by 'Balthasar Moncornet' after own design. Balthasar Moncornet (c.1600-1668) was a French painter, engraver and print dealer. He is an interesting and talented, but under-appreciated engraver. He is the father of Jean Moncornet. Good, given age. Trimmed just outside plate mark Tiny hole and thin paper at top left, not effecting image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 11.3 x 15.6 cm. The image size is ca. 11.2 x 15.5 cm. The overall size is ca. 4.4 x 6.1 inch. The image size is ca. 4.4 x 6.1 inch.
