Carte Réduite des débouquements de St. Domingue
Paris: , 1787. Size: 920 × 600 mm Uncoloured, copper engraving. 3 short closed tears to top margin, not affecting the image, a very nice copy. Superb map from Le Pilote de L'Isle de Saint-Domingue et des debouquemens de cette isle… the atlas resulting from Puységur's official coastal survey of the island of Hispaniola carried out for the French government. Just ten years later as a result of the Revolutionary Wars France came into possession of the whole island. A double-page sea-chart with rhumb lines, showing the points of departure from, and open sea-ways of, the northern coastline of Santo Domingo, featuring the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Lower Bahamas, eastern parts of Cuba and Jamaica, and the western end of Puerto Rico. A very nice example of an intriguing and attractive chart.
