Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
Arthur a Levine, New York, New York, U.S.A. 1998 - Signed by the Author. Clean text. Gently read. Mild toning to the edges of the text. Light wear to the top and base of the spine. Spine lettering lightly worn. Purple diamond patterned boards / maroon spine, silver lettering. Dustcover not price clipped, $16.95 visible. Light closed, creased, tear to the bottom corner on the flap crease, light creasing to the base and top of the spine. Guardian review to the rear. All points of issue present. New mylar cover. This is the extremely rare 2nd Printing state with the most rare 2nd Printing jacket which carries all the 1st issue / 1st state points but has the slightly altered embossed 'Harry Potter' to the front cover. Genuine 2nd Printing jackets, of which there are very few, have a slightly darker tone to the 'Harry Potter' words and the text is not as highly raised. Far rarer than the normal 1st printing state jackets with the Guardian review and other points of issue. The genuine 2nd printing jackets were deemed a printing error as they carried the original Guardian review, no number to the spine, the words J.K. Rowling and the $16.95 price, and 51695 above the bar code. Very few were printed before the presses were reset and they can only be distinguished from the First Printing state jackets by the darker toned and slightly less raised 'Harry Potter' wording to the front cover. Very rare signed copy. 309 p. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
