The High Window
Hamish Hamilton, London 1943 - The second impression, printed three months after the first. The book is firmly and squarely bound in clean slightly bumped boards. The text block is a little dusty and age toned, but free from foxing or inscriptions. The dust jacket is the original and not price clipped, it is a little grubby, with a few very minor nicks and tears to the edges, but overall it is a very attractive example. Chandler's third novel, the U.K. edition is very difficult to find in any kind of dust jacket due to the poor quality of the wartime production, this is by far the brightest example that I have seen and shows off the sleazy and distinctive artwork to excellent affect. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
