Map engraved by Rand McNally & Co. - Folding railroad timetable and map, decorative yellow and black front panel, pictorial yellow and black back panel, 24" x 35", folding to 4" x 8.25", 27 panels, 1 24" x 35" map including margins. An extensive timetable for "America's Most Popular Railroad," connecting Chicago to St. Louis and Kansas City, with extended connections to San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle. A full sheet railway map appears on the verso, depicting the entire United States, Southern Canada and northern Mexico. The Chicago & Alton line is printed in bold black, as are the most relevant extensions. The text advertises the Railroad's pioneering dining car service with all meals $1.00 for adults and 50 cents for children. An illustration on the back panel depicting a lady dozing in a chair while reading a book advertises "Palace Reclining Chair Cars Free of Extra Charge." CONDITION: Good, small separations at some folds, crease and chipping on lower left corner of back panel.
