Horizontal tear to text of G2, Vol. I - without loss of sense, marginal loss to lower corner of O2, Vol. II, else internally clean and crisp. The first edition of the first collection of narrative pieces by novelist and poet Amelia Opie (1769-1853). The tales, which vary in length from several pages to full volumes, embrace a broad spectrum of plots and modes, from the comic to the tragic, from the sentimental to the Gothic, and secured Opie both critical and popular approval.
