London: Duckworth 1929, 1st Edition. (Hardcover) 220pp. Very good. Octavo. Illustrated with plates from photos (including frontispiece). Original blue cloth with gilt lettering on spine. This book was reviewed by Dr. Rudmore Brown for the Manchester Guardian. Dr. Rumore Brown was the author of "A naturalist at the Poles, the life, work & voyages of Dr. W. S. Bruce the polar explorer ... " A tight clean copy. Spence 642. First & only edition and very scarce. Narrative of the Ross Sea party of Skackleton's "Endurance" expedition, sent to lay depots for the proposed crossing of the continent. This was the copy of Ray Adie (purchased from his sale of books last year) and was probably given to him by Rudmose Brown who reviewed this particular copy. Inscription on front endpaper..
