Salmasius's celebrated edition of Solinus wherein he elucidates Solinus's debt to Pliny in great detail. Salmasius succeeded Joseph Scaliger in Leiden in 1631 and continued to publish, but his work on Solinus, first published in 1629 and here in the superior second edition, remained his great work of scholarship. Browning, scattered foxing, heavy in spots, a few in text illustrations of diagrams and botanicals, some light creases early in both volumes, generally clean and very good internally.
