Lyons: Apud Antonium Vincentium, 1556. 159, [1] pp. Octavo (6-1/2" x 4"). Contemporary limp vellum with lapped edges and thong ties, early hand-lettered title to front cover. Light soiling and edgewear, minor horizontal crack to spine, a bit of bookplate residue to front free endpaper, interior notably fresh. A remarkably well-preserved volume containing two scarce titles. * Second edition. Du Moulin was a distinguished French humanist lawyer. First published in 1546, Extricatio Labyrinthi is a detailed commentary on the Roman law governing loans and interest. The other book is a commentary on marriage contracts, gifts and testaments.
