Prestel-Verlag, Munich 1979 - NB: Text is in German throughout. Blue hardcover with title in white on spine. Both volumes are in very good condition, with previous owners name o front endpapers of both volumes. Dustjacket condition: Both dustjackets are in good condition, with light shelfwear, slightly more so to head of spine of dustjacket on both volumes.The cardboard slipcase is in good condition, with light shelfwear. 399 and 424pp. respectively. Many colour and b/w illustrations in Vol I, Vol II has only b/w illustrations. Oskar Schlemmer (1888-1943) was one of Germany's most important 20th century artists. The first volume, a thorough monograph which includes essays by Schlemmer published for the first time shows the diversity of the artist. The second volume provides a catalogue raisonne of Schlemmers' works, some 1527 in total - paintings, watercolours, drawings in pastel, and sculptures, all illustrated with detailed references to studies, other versions and quotations. The catalogue also includes tables of signatures, concordances, indices of exhibitions, subject titles and past and present owners. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
