Bound in contemporary mottled calf. Seven spine compartments, decorated in gilt. Spine head of vols. 1 & 3 chipped, with some loss. 44 engraved plates,. Some marginal staining, foxing, but generally good. With half titles and engraved frontispieces to each volume. Vol. 2 depicts Frederick, Elector of Brandenburg, later Frederick I, King of Prussia surrounded by mythical figures. A view of the interior of the museum appears after p. 4 of vol. 1. A work by the German antiquarian and numismatist, Lorenz Beger. Beger served as librarian to prince Karl Ludwig von der Pfalz and also acted as conservator of a collection of coins and other antiquities collected by Ezechial Spanheim. Beger's Thesaurus Brandenburgicus selectus (1696-1701), dealt with coins, gems, statues, busts, vases and lamps.
