Some offsetting from the box lining papers to the outer wrapper, minimal offsetting from a few of the lithographs to the facing text pages, otherwise about fine. First edition. With a prefatory essay by Jacques Prévert, "Le Coeur a l'Ouvrage." One of 800 numbered copies printed on vélin d'Arches by Fequet and Baudier, with 25 original lithographs, most in color, printed by Mourlot. There were also an unspecified number of hors commerce copies for contributors, friends, etc. The artists (or estates) contributing original lithographs to this wonderful look backward on Mourlot's life, work and friendships in the heart of the 20th century European community of artists and writers are, in order of appearance, Brianchon, Masson, Baudin, Fenosa, Estève, Matisse, Guiramand, Terechkovoitch, Braque, Derain, Picasso, Jenkins, Miró, Cocteau, Minaux, Villon, Chagall, Giacometti, Buffet, Wunderlich, Delvaux, Vasarely, Manessier, Lapicque, and Sutherland.
