Published by Authority. Providence: Carter and Wilkinson, 1798. 652 pp. Octavo (8-1/2" x 5"). Contemporary calf, lettering piece and blind fillets. Rubbing to extremities, some rubbing and scuffing to boards and spine, corners bumped, hinges cracked, a few partial cracks to text block. Very light browning to text, negligible light foxing and faint dampstaining in places. Early owner annotations to endleaves, including a fine example of calligraphy, interior otherwise clean. * First edition. This was Rhode Island's first post-Revolution compilation; its predecessor was published in 1772. Babbitt, Hand-List of Legislative Sessions and Session Laws 456.
