Process of Wood-block Printing.
Tokyo. Nishinomiya & Hasegawa, Inc. No date. Ca. 1950s? Japanese style accordion book, 5 x 7 inches, Japanese decorative cloth -covered boards with title label, 25 pages of color woodblock prints, one introductory page. Very good condition. A beautifully produced book of woodbock prints showing how the image of Hiroshige's "Sudden Rain at Shono" is built up in successive printings starting from the black and white key block. On the left side of the opened book is shown the impression from the block to be added, and on the right that block printed on the sheet that will be the final image.
